Who We Are
We long to be a community devoted to the glory of God, the joy of all people, and the good of the city.
God is glorious, and he is most glorified when our joy is grounded in him. Jesus came for the purpose of making God’s glory known and our joy complete in him. Jesus is the exact representation of the glory of God, so when we behold his glory our joy is fulfilled in him. The outcome is we receive joyful hearts that long to share our joy with others that their joy might be full. As God’s glory satisfies the hearts of people it results in the blessing and peace of the city.
It is our desire that Christ Community Church would be a people so utterly captivated by Jesus that everyday would be lived for the glory of God, the joy of all people, and the good of the city.
We are a community of Christ’s disciples, formed by Word and Spirit, devoted to making, maturing, multiplying, and mobilizing disciples.
Jesus came proclaiming the Word of God in the power of the Holy Spirit, creating, calling, and commissioning a people to be his witnesses in the world. Jesus’ disciples are formed by his Word and filled with his Spirit, so that they may be sent out to make disciples.
Jesus’ mission is continued on earth through every disciple being a disciple-maker.
We are utterly captivated by Jesus Christ. Everything we do is in the name of Jesus and for his glory. He is the reason we exist, the content of our message, and the hope of the world.
We are divinely created for community. Everything we do cultivates our devotion to one another in Christ. We reflect the loving community of our triune God in our shared life together.
We are graciously called by God to be the Church—gathered in Christ and sent into the world to bear witness to him. We are his people, bride, and body being built up to display his glory.
Gospel worship is our joyful response to God’s revelation in creation, his written Word (the Scriptures), and incarnated Word (Jesus Christ).
Gospel work is our duty before God as his special creation to reflect and image his glory through every vocation and calling pointing all creation to honor and delight in God.
Gospel witness is our responsibility to declare with urgency to all peoples God’s power and salvation through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection until he returns in glory.
We value the world as God values the world and labor with him in its restoration and renewal.
The North American Mission Board exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting.
We accomplish that through Send North America, our national strategy for mobilizing churches to plant churches and mobilizing church planters and other missionaries to assist with those efforts.
